GP Synergy delivers Australian
General Practice Training in the Sydney metropolitan area
and the New England and North West regions of NSW. Our region
covers Central, Eastern and Northern Sydney, South Eastern
Sydney, parts of South West Sydney and stretches from the
Queensland border in the north, the Liverpool Ranges of
the Hunter Valley in the south, the opal fields in the west
and the Great Dividing Range to the east, encompassing cities
and towns including Tamworth, Armidale and Moree. Teaching
practices range from large multidisciplinary clinics to
solo practices, academic and special skills posts exposing
trainees to a broad spectrum of practice styles and facilities.
Our Registrars
Our Registrars always include a high proportion of people
with other qualifications, often coming from very diverse
backgrounds. We encourage registrars to pursue various avenues
of professional development, including further degrees and
involvement in research and education. The high density
of teaching hospitals, universities and Divisions of General
Practice in the region can usually accommodate even the
most esoteric combinations of training interests and specialisations.
Medical
Educators and Registrar Liaison Officers
We have several dedicated Medical Educators who help registrars
plan their training and ensure that our curriculum and training
methods align with RACGP requirements and registrars' needs.
A Registrar Liaison Officer (RLO) liaises between GP Synergy's
Medical Educators and Registrars and works to create professional
and social links among registrars.
We have a philosophy of involving registrars in the management
of our program as well as its development and delivery.
To strengthen that involvement, we also have Registrar/Medical
Educator roles and a Registrar representative on our Board.
